Willie is a portrait of American country singer, guitarist, and songwriter, Willie Nelson. The portrait captures the rebellious spirit and genuine soulfulness of this beloved icon. Nelson's character is captured and conveyed by a series of Easter eggs and symbols, which tell the story of his life. Through these symbols, the painting tell the story of his journey shaping the outlaw country sub-genre that developed in the late 1960s. Willie Nelson brought outlaw country to Austin, TX when conservative restrictions of his music pushed him out of Nashville.
