Jerry’s parents Pat and Armenita owned two grocery stores in Little Rock Arkansas. Jerry was raised learning the importance of work, customer service and community. At 9 years old he would push shopping carts around the grocery store for patrons, playing his part in the family business.

Jerry Jones is one of the only NFL team owners who achieved a significant level of success as a football player.

Letterman jackets have been worn by members of athletic teams since the late 1800s. The wearers of these leather and wool jackets were known to be elite athletes. Also known as Varsity jackets, they signal membership to a team and excellence in performance in their chosen field. As a new college graduate, Jerry pursued multiple business ventures. “Wildcatting”, a term used to describe those who stakes their fortune on oil and gas exploration, was by far his largest success of these many endeavors.

In 1989 Jones rolled the dice again, buying the Dallas Cowboys NFL team. Jones’ efforts in the areas of sports marketing, promotion and the development of AT&T Stadium have created a vivid imprint on the landscape of the NFL and the American sports culture.

Jerry played offensive guard for the University of Arkansas in the early 1960s. His quickness and passion for the game made him one of the Razorbacks’ best blockers. Jones was named a co-captain of the team in 1964.

For more than 20 years, the Jones family and the Dallas Cowboys have worked to support charities including the Salvation Army. This patch represents their many philanthropic efforts.

Jerry, Gene and their children Steven, Charlotte and Jerry Jr. are all integral parts of the Dallas Cowboys Legacy. Jerry has built an incredible business including his family, friends, and fans.

Jerry met and quickly fell in love with beauty queen Eugenia "Gene" Chambers while they both attended the University of Arkansas in 1960. They married 18 months after meeting in 1963. The 9 points on the crown patch represent their 9 grandchildren

Among the many championships and wins awarded to the Dallas Cowboys under Jerry Jones’ ownership are three Superbowl wins.  XXVII, XXVIII, & XXX.

Jones studied business and earned a bachelor’s degree in business administration, as well as a master's degree in business
